Ask your Intuition – It is your Inner Knowing

Intuition is a superpower we all possess. Ask your intuition for guidance on your life path. For some, it’s easy to access and use it to their advantage; others have ignored it for years and find it difficult to connect to it or trust an inner voice without overthinking or rationalizing it. Learn in this article what intuition is and how you can access it and benefit from it.

What is Intuition?

Intuition is an inner knowing that lives inside you. There is no thought process or rationalizing when referring to this inner wisdom; it doesn’t come from the mind. Additionally, it doesn’t follow a logical step-by-step approach to arrive at a result. It’s the opposite of analytical thinking. Intuition is just a knowing.

Intuition can express itself in different forms. Most people feel it in their gut, hence the term “gut feeling”; others can intuitively see, hear, or simply know.

However, many people argue that the biggest seat of intuition is in the heart. Experiments also support this. Research shows that a heart-intuition relationship benefits people emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually. Many studies show how the heart is the most significant aspect of intuition.

In one study at the HeartMath Research Lab, researchers showed participants different pictures that trigger different emotional responses. The data collected shows that the heart receives information before the brain.

Why you should trust your Intuition

Many people have learnt that feelings and emotions are not welcomed in our world, so they suppress their gut feelings. This disconnection creates a life led purely by the mind and external input.

There is nothing wrong with thinking situations through or rationalizing them and getting advice from someone else. However, intuition is an inherent human quality deeply connected to your heart, soul, the universe, and your higher purpose. Your intuition is made for you and only works for you. Your higher wisdom guides you to your highest and best in life.

The link between Mind and Inner Wisdom

Although our mind is like a super-computer, it can only use the information it has learnt or experienced. Intuition, on the contrary, can grasp ideas or situations in a split second without going through the thinking process. Intuition works faster than the mind and aligns you with your heart and higher purpose.

Your past experiences tint your thoughts, and when the mind tries to take control, the results can deviate from your higher purpose. Your mind tries to rationalize things through your perspective and experiences.

Intuition simplifies your life; you don’t need to think through everything meticulously. Just ask your intuition and listen to the feeling it gives you.

The link between External Input and Inner Wisdom

People’s opinions and advice fall under the category of external input. Often, people seek in others what they should be asking themselves. It isn’t wrong to get support, but remember that everybody has their own experiences. Everyone sees the world from different levels of perception, and what others tell you is linked to their experiences.

How to connect to your Intuition

We were all born with the quality of intuition, but many people ditch it during their lives. Nowadays, we live in a very analytically driven world where humanity hasn’t leveraged its natural gifts to their fullest. However, qualities like intuition, sensitivity, and feeling are experiencing a revival, and their benefits are being rediscovered and praised.

Intuition is more readily available to sensitive people, yet that doesn’t mean other people can’t relearn and claim it back.

Being able to connect to your intuition just takes some practice. Here are some ways to connect with your inner knowing.

  • Sit quietly.
  • Spend time in nature.
  • Meditate regularly.
  • Take a break from the noise of the external world, like Social Media, TV, News…
  • Turn inward and listen to your inner world.
  • Shift your focus from the mind to your heart center.
  • Stop the chatter and focus on noticing the signs.
  • Connect to your intuition with ThetaHealing.

If you want to strengthen your connection with your intuition, it is essential to trust the signs it gives you. The more you trust and follow the signs, the more you will be connected; eventually, it becomes a natural state.

How your Inner Knowing talks to you

What intuition feels is different for everyone. Reflect on what you feel and how to interpret that feeling—usually, intuition talks through feelings and signs.

Your intuition is like a roadmap showing you where to go. When you are on the right path, you may experience the following feelings.

  • An ‘I got this’ feeling
  • Inner peace
  • Excitement
  • A calm certainty

Although you might have a good feeling about something, your mind may still try to convince you that the direction you are headed is not a good idea. Resolve the reasonings and keep trusting your intuition.

Your intuition can also give you warning signs when you are in danger. People often feel physical discomfort, such as the following, although their mind can’t see or rationalize that something might be off.

  • A clenching pain or cramping in the chest or stomach
  • Nausea
  • An increase in stomach acid
  • Anxiety/butterflies in your stomach or head
  • Feeling like you are on high alert

Remember, your intuition nudges you towards your highest good.

For example, I recently went to the little store just across from our house. It was already after sunset, and when I left, I noticed a man outside. I saw him passing and had a “weird” feeling about him if something was off. I kept my bag close to me, looked over my shoulder again to see what he was doing and quickly walked away. Ten minutes later, I was standing on my balcony and saw the police arrive at the store. The next day I found out that man I noticed had robbed the store.

An intuitively led life and business

I allow myself to be guided by my intuition in my personal life and business.

This trust means that I don’t meticulously plan, overthink, or constantly ask about other people’s opinions anymore. I don’t create business plans or draft to-do lists anymore.

Every Monday morning, I sit down, get into meditation and ask my intuition what I should work on for the upcoming week. That’s how I know what I need to do.

Although I value expert knowledge and advice from other people, I don’t do things just because someone says this is the right way, as I know people always share their perspectives.

Only my intuition knows what is meant for me and aligns with my higher purpose, happiness; it’s how the universe backs me up.
